The company started in business in 1997, and has quickly grown to become one of the UK's premier designers and producers of contemporary lighting.  Founded by John Fearon (Managing Director) and James Bassant (Design Director), the company has grown by an average of 20% year-on-year. With distributors in 34 countries around the world, export sales now account for nearly half of all sales, proving that the very best UK-designed products can still succeed abroad as well as at home.

With a reputation for innovative designs, high quality manufacture, and reliable performance, Astro makes products for interior and exterior use, but with a particular specialism in bathroom lighting. With products designed to comply with stringent IP44 requirements, it boasts what is probably the largest range of bathroom lighting anywhere in Europe.

To accommodate the growing business Astro has invested heavily in recent years. In 2008, it relocated to a 35,000 sq ft (3,200 sq. m) new headquarters in Harlow incorporating state-of-the-art equipment including CNC rapid prototyping. 

Above all, the greatest asset the company has is its people. John and James firmly believe that if you have a strong team who are happy in what they do then everything else will fall into place. There must be some truth in this ethos as service levels at Astro are among the highest in the industry.
